Jordan Murphy
Congratulations to Jordan Murphy who has been booked for filming on the second series of ITV's SCOTT & BAILEY, as well as landing himself a leading role in feature film SPIKE ISLAND which is set for release in 2012!
SPIKE ISLAND focuses on a group of teeneagers who are trying to get to the now-legendary Stone Roses gig of 1990.

Children In Need Rocks
Barney will be interviewing backstage at tonight's Children In Need Rocks charity gala in Manchester. The event will feature Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Elbow, JLS and more and is hosted by Fearne Cotton, Chris Moyles and David Tennant.

Virgin Media Shorts Winner!
Here at Urban Talent we're thrilled at the success of Jason Wingard's short film 2:20, which won the prestigious VIRGIN MEDIA SHORTS grand prize!
The story of a man living on borrowed time who is tormented by a mysterious homeless woman (played by Urban Talent's Christine Dalby) won over the judging panel and rewarded Jason with £30,000 to fund his next film.

Steve Murphy voices Monster in Children’s Radio Drama
The audio adventure series Suzie Pugh and a Monster Too is to make its broadcast debut on Britain’s only dedicated children’s radio station.
The adventure series, which will debut on Fun Kids DAB Digital Radio on 24th October, revolves around a little girl and her alien friend Smert (voiced by Steve) who lives in her garden shed.

Anna Krippa is appearing as Russian Woman in BBC thriller STOLEN this Sunday 3rd June.
STOLEN stars Damian Lewis as Detective Inspector Anthony Carter who works in the Human Trafficking Unit, battling to make a difference to the plight of exploited children being smuggled into the UK and from there, to anywhere and to any fate.

Amelia Young in UNITED
Amelia Young is appearing in BBC2 drama UNITED this Sunday 24th April.
UNITED is based on the true story of Manchester United's legendary Busby Babes, the youngest side ever to win the Football League, and the 1958 Munich air crash that claimed eight of their number.
The film draws on first-hand interviews with the survivors and their families to tell the inspirational story of a team and community overcoming terrible tragedy.
UNITED is on BBC2 on Easter Sunday at 9pm.

Route Irish
Ken Loach's latest feature film ROUTE IRISH will be released in cinemas and available to view on Sky Movies Box Office from this Friday 18th March.
Route Irish is a fast-paced conspiracy thriller that delivers a fresh insight into the moral and political corruption at play in Iraq. As well as exploring the abuses perpetrated by private security firms on the ground in Iraq, Loach and screenwriter Paul Laverty examine the effects of combat on security contractors – the new “soldiers” of modern warfare - who witness the horrors of combat and are subject to post-combat stress yet receive no support from the state upon return home.

Urban Talent's Alice Barry has been confirmed for filming on the next series of BAFTA award-winning drama SHAMELESS.
Alice plays Lillian who runs a brothel on the Chatsworth estate.

Bedlam
The contemporary paranormal drama BEDLAM will soon be transmitting on Living TV. The series revolves around a group of flatmates who live in a converted pre-Victorian lunatic asylum as they are haunted by former patients.
Urban Talent have Amber Hodgkiss, Christina Tam, Philip Broadbent and Gerry McLaughlin appearing in the series.

Barney Harwood to Host the 2010 British Academy Children’s Awards
For the past two years Barney has been a familiar face on bafta.org as the official backstage interviewer of all BAFTA Children’s Award Winners. Barney was also awarded a BAFTA of his own for his role presenting Smile at the 2007 BAFTA Children’s Awards.
On 28 November Barney will take to the BAFTA stage once more but this time for the entire duration of the ceremony to host the British Academy Children’s Awards 2010.

Trevor Williams at Cannes Film Festival
Trevor Williams is currently at the Cannes Film Festival ready for the screening of feature film 'Route Irish'.
Directed by Ken Loach, Trevor appears in the film as Nelson and filmed his scenes late 2009 in Jordan.

Anthony Quinlan runs for Sport Relief
Anthony Quinlan will be taking part in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile this Sunday 21st March.
Anthony, who plays Gilly in C4's Hollyoaks, will be joining thousands of others at London's Victoria Embankment to raise money for Sport Relief 2010.
Along the route Anthony and fellow runners will encounter circus performers, samba bands and Indian drummers to name but a few. The event is suitable for young and old alike and Lazy Town protagonist Sportacus will be taking part in a special warm-up before the event.

Bhavna Limbachia in 'Rafta Rafta'
Bhavna Limbachia has been confirmed for Bolton Octagon's production of Ayub Khan-Din's Rafta Rafta, a heart-warming comedy set in Bolton's close-knit Asian community.
Rafta Rafta is based on Bill Naughton's play All In Good Time and Bhavna will be playing Vina Patel.
The play runs at the Octagon from Thursday 13th May - Saturday 5th June and then transfers to the New Vic theatre in Stoke. For more information go to the following links:

Therase Neve in Northern Stage production of 'Apples'
Therase Neve has been confirmed for the Northern Stage/Company of Angels co production of Apples.
Adapted from the Richard Milward novel, the play traces the exploits of a gang of British teenagers through the eyes of two narrators: Adam: a shy and neurotic recluse, who spends most of his time in his room listening to records and fending off the rages of his father, and Eve: the object of his lust and affection (played by Therase).
The play will embark on a national tour from June 2nd 2010 so watch this space for more details of venues and dates.

Barney presents 'Evolution' Prom this weekend
Barney Harwood will be presenting a Darwin-inspired Prom for kids this Saturday and Sunday at The Royal Albert Hall. Conductor Charles Hazlewood will lead listeners from prehistoric Earth to outer space with John Williams's soundtracks to Jurassic Park and Star Wars – and also uncover the bird kingdom (with Delius's On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring) and insect life (in Arvo Pärt's If Bach Had Been a Beekeeper).
The Prom will be broadcast live on Radio 3 this Sunday 2nd August at 11:00am.

Barney presents 'Newsround' bereavement special
Gone, a powerful and moving documentary presented by BAFTA award-winning presenter, Barney Harwood, tells the story of four children – all of whom have lost someone they love.
All four of the children in Gone contacted Newsround through the programme's website after the show asked children if they felt able to share their stories of bereavement. Hundreds of other young people also got in touch to share their stories with the programme. Previous Newsround specials which have covered difficult subjects in a sensitive and accessible way include recent reports on knife crime and divorce.
Gone will transmitt on BBC1 tonight at 4:55pm.

Barney takes the BAFTA!
Urban Talent are thrilled to annouce that our very own Barney Harwood has won the Children's BAFTA for his presenting on CBBC's Smile!
The award show took place on November 25th at the London Hilton hotel and Barney says he's so excited he still hasn't slept!
